I understand that this is still terribly cheap by paddle standards, and that multi-part paddles carry understandable design flaws, but for a "popular brand" I'm rather unpleasantly surprised. To add to the shortcomings listed, I managed to limit the rotation of the pear part only by turning the clamping lever over a limit that seems to be "healthy" for the plastic and the clamping itself is just waiting for the tiny lever to break. I don't understand that if you can "invent" functional lockouts on bike seatposts when you can do it on tripods or hiking poles, that someone would factory sew one of these onto the paddle. The bad thing is that there is probably no meaningful competition in the combo paddles I would need for my purposes.?
