I’d been waiting for the 5800X3D to make a comeback on the AM4 platform, but when I saw the price, I told myself there was absolutely no point in spending 9,000 on a four-year-old CPU on a dead platform, so I jumped straight to AM5 and chose the 9600X. More than adequate for gaming, PBO -30mV, temperatures under load 80 degrees, average 65 degrees (cooled by THERMALTAKE ASTRIA 400). Unlike with the 5600X, I don’t experience any bottlenecks when gaming.

Perfectly sufficient for a gaming PC. It keeps up with the Radeon 9070. The disadvantage is the higher temperatures the processor reaches under load. You need to play with the PBOck settings in the BIOS. I managed to keep the processor at 80° degrees under full load which is not great but when I read it here so I can be glad. Set negative CO is a must, for me 45 and then TDP helped where I entered 95W(128W/100A/160A). When playing then max up to 70°. I'm cooling with a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120. If I knew what I was getting into, I'd probably take the waterman.
