This USB-C connector works even where the device has worn USB-C contacts (about 2 years for USB-C, compared to lightning about >10 years) and does not charge via a regular USB-C cable. This cable helped me to charge my tablet again without having to replace the USB-C connector in the device, where replacement would have cost several thousand.
