I had the speakers for 2 years, and about 3 weeks before the end of the warranty, the active speaker started to emit a hum from the rear wall at about 120 Hz, maybe just resonance, but more like some kind of coil? So they went to the complaint and I got my money back, because Alesis doesn' t have a service in the Czech Republic, so they probably didn' t have time to resolve the complaint in time. I' m planning to buy some bigger ones, but to be honest, if I still wanted small-mid size monitors, I' d go with them again, as they have no competition in the price range. But these are really monitors and the user is expected to have control over the sound before sending it to the speakers. This is evidenced by the rather useless and non-functioning bass boost switch (why on earth a switch and not a potentiometer. ), which rather boosts the mids and makes the sound worse. Furthermore, they have a too " boxy", mid-treble sound for normal listening. Although they also handle bass - I solved this on the PC with the Equliser APO program, which I would recommend to absolutely everyone for absolutely all speakers; )). But I also have a record player with an integrated preamplifier, and it was not very listenable when connected directly. Thirdly, on the subject of why they are rather monitors for the studio - after 20 minutes they fall asleep - the end probably turns off completely, but at the same time the light stays on exactly the same! Moreover, this feature is not described anywhere. They can be woken up when a sound is sent to them, but depending on its volume, it takes as long as 5 seconds. You can get used to it, but when you have them on your PC, you expect to hear notifications from the PC about the start of the game, incoming messages, etc., but you won' t be able to hear them after you put them to sleep.
