I bought the bike "unboxed", admittedly without much thought, which was a mistake. But in this case, "unpacked" means that someone unpacked it, put it together, tried it out, and for some reason it didn't fit. The problem is that he scratched the wheel, tore off the thread of the front wheel bolt and disassembled it to the first principles to return it to Alza, so e.g. the whole handlebar mechanism had to be put back together piece by piece. So, although the German manufacturer has a nice video instruction, you don't fold the bike according to it because you're holding parts that aren't supposed to be used at all. Lucky me, apparently everything was in the package. So I can recommend the bike, but buy it new or second hand - assembled.
The bike looks solid, it's lightweight and when I get it assembled at the shop, I'm sure I'll be happy with it.
Never, ever, ever buy an "unboxed" kids bike here on Alza. The chances of it just being unwrapped are statistically close to zero.
