As a screen, I'm extremely satisfied with the TV; the picture is excellent, sharp even on this larger diagonal, and the colours on the OLED are simply unbeatable. The Ambilight from Philips is the icing on the cake, it's bright and really turns a film into an experience. If you appreciate high-end TVs and want the best the market has to offer, then I must recommend this one. For what it offers, I'd say it's even good value for money. What's definitely worth mentioning are the built-in speakers, which sound very good even without a soundbar or speaker system, and also the 144Hz refresh rate in gaming mode if you plan to connect a console to the TV – surprisingly, not all TVs in this price range offer this. The only noticeable downside is, of course, Google TV – more bloatware full of ads than an operating system, and despite the TV's powerful hardware, it runs choppily and is far from smooth. Unfortunately, there's nothing better on offer, so I definitely recommend connecting an Apple TV or something similar. The TV remote isn't bad; it looks good visually and is well-designed functionally, but the buttons peel very quickly, and my remote even started to bend slightly, but maybe I just got a 'faulty' unit.

OLED – superb picture quality
good value for a large OLED
as a display, it’s flawless
Ambilight is great
The sound is probably quite good (or rather, (better than on my old LCD TV), but they’re just speakers at the back facing the wall, which distorts even the original, perfectly decent sound
The hardware is a bit underpowered – it works, but it’s pushing it, and that constant slight lag and the occasional freezes in the menu make it feel like some cheap Android phone.
Adjusting the colours, contrast and profiles is a real pain, but once you’ve set the same settings for the umpteenth profile a few times, at least the settings stay the same.
The remote is unnecessarily complicated, with an unergonomic button layout; even for someone technically savvy, it’s a right pain because it’s simply badly designed, There are loads of unnecessary buttons, and the manufacturer can’t seem to make up their mind whether they’re making an old-school telly with teletext or a click-based computer with an OS, when all it would take is simple controls like on a Chromecast.
Google/Android TV is a bit of a faff, but it has Projectivity, Jellyfin and Immich. For some reason, though, not Google Photos – lol, so the only option is to upload photos from my mobile.

Last year I was looking at the predecessor (55OLED819) and this year I simply couldn't resist. I have to admit that watching Disney+'s Aliens in 4K quality with Dolby sound system and Ambilight accompaniment nearly shot me out of my pants. I'm really looking forward to revisiting all my favorite classics. Playing on Playstation 5 also without a single complaint, TV has of course game mode and a lot of modern features that I didn't even have to manually set up. I've only had the TV for a short time, but I'm really out of it for now. The only disappointment is the paltry 2-year warranty, while the competing TCL offers 3 to 5 years as standard. Let's hope this piece doesn't go a few days out of warranty into the eternal hunting grounds.
