An excellent and probably the best budget 32-inch monitor with an IPS panel and impressive specifications such as QHD resolution, a 180Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time. I wanted a bigger screen for watching films, YouTube and browsing the web. I had the opportunity to compare IPS and VA monitors, and on direct comparison I found that IPS displays have much more vibrant colours and better viewing angles. In the price range up to 5,000 This 32-inch Samsung Odyssey G5 is clearly the best of the bunch – it ticks all the current boxes, such as a high refresh rate and low response time. Even 2K resolution is no problem on a 32-inch screen, and it’s perfectly adequate. The only drawback might be the brightness of 300 cd/m², but I have my monitor in a darker room and tend to use it in the evening, so the brightness is fine for me. I was worried about backlight bleeding, as I also use a 27" AOC Q27G4X Gaming monitor, where it’s very low. Compared to the AOC, the larger Samsung Odyssey performs quite well, and the picture quality is very good. The Samsung Odyssey also features G-Sync-compatible and FreeSync technologies, making it ideal for gaming too. I think it offers brilliant value for money from Samsung and I’d definitely recommend it!
