The image is of high quality, the colors are not obsessed, suitable for work, where it replaces me thanks to the resolution of 2 screens. I use the laptop power supply as well as the image transmission via one cable. Another advantage is that I can have up to 3 USB devices connected to the laptop via the monitor without having the ports on the laptop occupied. You can even connect speakers.
A great monitor with quality workmanship, but the colour rendering and 60Hz are aspects that could be better.
Quality of workmanship - the monitor is very well put together, the attention to detail is evident and it has a stylish design. When unpacked, there is a thoughtful approach to the design that reminded me a bit of Apple. Assembly and disassembly are extremely convenient - nothing creaks, everything is well thought out.
❌ Black colour - a big minus for those who are used to quality colour reproduction, especially MacBook Pro users. The black here is more like a dark grey, which is a bit disappointing.
❌ 60Hz refresh rate - for most people this won't be a problem, but if you're used to 120Hz (on a MacBook Pro, for example), the difference is noticeable. For ordinary users, however, this will not be a major disadvantage.
I was looking for a monitor with a diagonal between 34 and 38 inches (deep table) with a normal (not ultra-wide) aspect ratio. In these parameters there were practically only 2 variants at the time of purchase, this VA and more than twice as expensive IPS. The price/performance ratio is perfect for this monitor. I expected worse color rendering with a VA panel, and for my purposes (mainly work/coding) it doesn't matter. However, the black colour could be better, it is rather dark grey. It's even brighter than the other IPS monitors I use, which I wouldn't expect from a VA.
its almost unique parameters (diagonal between 34 and 38 + 16:9 aspect ratio)
Maybe I'm unlucky on that piece. The monitor has good colours, is quite subtle and has a nice design on the back as well, so it looks good in the space. But I am not satisfied with the product. I suggest you pay a few grand on top and pick something else. The Samsung ViewFinity S80UD has rather flimsy plastics, one USB connector is slowly coming off and the monitor makes strange resonant noises. These shortcomings became apparent after less than three weeks of use! This is the third time I have tried to claim it and so far without success. The monitor is more in complaints than at my house. The seller refers to a dedicated Samsung service, so I don't know which side is at fault.
