For little money, 1440p monitor with 240Hz frequency. The colours are oversaturated and need to be tweaked to suit, but otherwise satisfied. I did not notice any defective pixels from the factory. HDR 400 (in general) is a joke, and if you require functional HDR, look elsewhere in a higher price range.
DP and HDMI cable included
Improved OSD over previous generation
Overlay options (FPS, center dot, etc. )
240Hz (260Hz with OC)
No need for a power adapter like the previous generation
For me 400cd/m2 is not enough
HDR just for decoration, unusable
Individual RGB components need to be fine-tuned for accurate colours
Thick edges (plastic frame + edge of the display itself about 3-4mm)

After 9 years I was looking to switch from a FHD TN monitor (Benq xl2411p) to a 2k monitor. Unfortunately for me the VG27AQML1A was unusable. After a couple of days of setup (without the calibration probe) I sort of figured out and saved two modes, one for normal use and one for gaming. Unfortunately the panel backlighting was too much for me in any mode, hard to tell if it's piece by piece. Returned and acquired XG27AQMR.
design, stand and adjustment options
OK for gaming (bold colours, 260hz)
not calibrated "out of the box"
weaker display settings
displaying black or shades of gray did not work for me in any mode
the backlighting of the panel was too much for me (it didn't suit me at all for normal use)

The monitor initially met all my expectations and I was completely satisfied. But then after about 11 months there was a problem with the display, when black lines appeared from the bottom across the entire length of the display, the lower the frequency the more lines. A lot of people may not even find out soon, as I didn't find anything about this monitor during the first complaint(about other Asuses yes, interesting) reddit, google etc.
The point is that this problem spreads from lower frequencies to higher frequencies successively 60hz, 120hz, 144hz etc. I believe so since before the first complaint I was using it exclusively on a 144hz+ pc(144hz is max if you want to use 10bit) and there just after 11 months or so one line started to flash, I tried a different frequency - 120hz and boom a few lines, higher frequency 200hz+ nothing was there.
Well after the complaint I connected the Xbox and the switch to it and world wonder 6 months after the repair, I turn on the xbox and why I have the lines again when a few minutes before there were no lines on the pc. Which actually confirmed to me that the display is going away from low frequencies since my xbox runs on hdmi - max 120hz.
And as a bonus, you'll now find on reddit etc that people are having the same problem, which doesn't add much to the longevity. So I warn buy at your own risk, when using at 144hz and below you risk a display life of about 1 year, at a higher frequency it will probably last a bit longer, but as I mentioned more people have the same problem as me. All I have to do now is decide whether to re-advertise or buy another brand outright, which kind of pisses me off since it cost 12k+ back then(2024).
good image
plenty of connectors
positioning function, really good base, whether you want it straight, vertical, lift it up it goes quite high
after less than a year complaint and repair
after half a year after repair the same problem
more in the commentary
