Too bad about the significant instability of the brightness in "non-perpendicular" view, otherwise it would probably come as a monitor with a very good image, especially considering the price.
in perpendicular view beautiful image
colors: I don't have the measuring equipment, but I guess I'm completely unqualified; Incl. that the monitor comes with A4 of calibration to Avg. Delta E < 1,0
180 Hz
G-sync also works
consumption in SDR typically 20-25 W, (HDR about 44), with low brightness setting (for reading in the dark) even under 15 W
Download the Acer Display Widget: can be changed e.g. modes via Windows (although only part of the settings actually go through it)
pivot in both directions
speakers (just for basic sound system, let's say)
viewing angles: when viewed perpendicularly, the image is beautiful; but when leaning slightly to the side (vert. and horizontally), "clouds" are accumulated on the image (I would say that my previous, older, also IPS monitor Asus did not do this)
10-bit colours only when the frequency is reduced to 120 Hz (e.g. I think 144 /165 would work, but with color resampling)
display modes (modes) - when any change is made, the "User" mode is overwritten instead of the current mode each time
slack in the monitor's mounting to the stand: the monitor wobbles sideways when operated via the buttons
I purchased the monitor as a complement to my Dell S2721DS as I wanted a 1440p monitor with similar specs but a higher refresh rate. Right out of the box and the first time I turned it on, I was struck by how little brightness the Acer has compared to my Dell. So I tried a combination of all possible settings, but despite this it was still shining at maximum values about half as bright as my old Dell, while their luminosity should be identical according to the parameters. In games, this meant that in dark scenes one had to crank up the brightness in the game settings themselves to see anything at all, which of course completely killed the contrast. After subsequent googling, I found that this monitor varies quite a bit from piece to piece, so, especially considering the other reviews, I probably had bad luck on the wrong piece. The question remains how many pieces are bad and how many are usable. My piece did not suffer from blaclight bleeding. In the corners, however, the picture was still a little darker. As far as color concept is concerned, I subjectively rate the colors well, although what good are nice colors when the monitor shines so little that you can't even see them. The stand itself was not very robust. The assembly was quite challenging, as the parts of the stand did not fit exactly together and it was necessary to lubricate the threads thoroughly to be able to screw in the fixing screw. Without lubrication, the bolt would just pull off and the fun would be over. So overall, I rate this Acer actually quite negatively given the height points, but given the other reviews, I guess it's safe to assume that I was just unlucky with the panel. Unfortunately, with the luminosity that my piece offered, it was practically unusable even in a dark room, so I returned it within the 14 day period.
High refresh rate.
Price within the alzadni.
Decent colours.
Almost no blacklight bleeding.
Totally insufficient brightness even after setting to maximum values.
Unnormal underexposure - noticeably darker image in the corners.
Installing the stand, which is virtually impossible without a thorough lubrication with WD oil.
This is a good monitor. I do not feel any eye fatigue even after working or gaming during whole day. Also, I like its support - it is easy to rotate monitor and change its height. The support has some sensitivity to vibrations, but this is usually not a big issue, and monitors with better support are significantly more expensive. I was worried that the monitor will be too large (I used 21" monitor before), but no, the size is comfortable.
I originally had a completely different monitor selected, but before I decided to purchase it, Alza made it quite expensive. That's why I decided to choose another model and I must say that I don't regret this decision. According to the reviews I was afraid that the stand would not be stable, but my fears were unnecessary. The monitors are very stable and do not move even when the table moves. I use DisplayPort, so the monitor runs at 180 Hz, which is great. The only significant problem has arisen because I bought two monitors, but each one is "different". One was made in 2023 and the other in 2024. They have different color rendition (see photo), and the speakers sound better on one monitor. Too bad I have a comparison now: D. But the fact remains that I bought two identical models and yet they differ in some ways, which surprised me quite a bit. Another interesting moment came after ordering. When I was still checking the details of the model on the e-shop, Alza offered me a discount with the information that in other stores this monitor is 400 CZK cheaper. Unfortunately, I found out this information after the purchase, so I could have saved 800 CZK, but it was too late. Even so, I think the price for these monitors is acceptable. In summary, the monitors meet my expectations, although the differences between the pieces remain a small blemish on an otherwise good impression. If I'd be more careful next time I make a purchase, I could avoid similar surprises.
Performance/price ratio
Good features
Basic repro
Stable stand
When you buy two monitors with different features
Broken cable holder on one of the monitors ( I won't use it anyway, but it hurts)
