A PD kulcsszónak nézz utána, type-c porton keresztül a fogadó készüléknek kell kezelnie ezt a protokolt, és kérni a töltőt hogy mekkora feszültséget küldjön neki. Ha a töltő tud akkorát küldeni, megadja, ha nem, a soronkövetkező kisebbik legnagyobbat adja.
Vagyis ha a töltő 5,6,9,12,15 és 20 voltokra képes, de a készüléked 18-at kér, akkor csak 15-t fog kapni, ha 12-t kér, akkor 12.
De ez PD kompatibilis fogadó nélkül nem fog menni, ha a készüléked nem támogatja a protokolt, akkor a töltő sima 5v-ot küld csak neki.
