Network interface
The device includes two 2.5GbE LAN ports, which speed up file transfers on the local network. The storage achieves read speeds of up to 295MB/s and write speeds of up to 294MB/s. M.2 NVMe slots
The storage integrates two M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 3 × 2 slots for installing fast NVMe SSDs. These bays are used to set up an SSD cache, which accelerates data reading and writing on the standard hard drives in the main bays. The device supports 3.5" SATA HDDs, as well as 2.5" SATA HDDs and SSDs. Acceleration via fast SSD storage reduces the response time of the QTS operating system when running demanding applications and transferring data.
Video outputs
The two HDMI 1.4b outputs support resolutions of up to 3840 × 2160 pixels at a frequency of 30Hz. You can connect monitors or TVs to the device for direct playback of stored content without needing a network transfer. The pair of video output connectors is complemented by a total of six USB ports, which include two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports with a speed of 10Gb/s, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and two USB 2.0 ports.
Encryption and data protection
The integrated AES-NI hardware encryption engine helps protect sensitive files from unauthorised access without reducing transfer speeds. The QTS operating system offers snapshot tools that make it easier to recover data after a potential ransomware attack. The backup functions also protect stored files through support for Apple Time Machine, synchronisation between multiple NAS units and backups to cloud services.
Surveillance system
The device can be operated as a central server for managing IP cameras and recording security footage. The system can handle up to 8 connected cameras simultaneously and save the captured video to the hard drives. Managing a camera system via the network storage has a typical power consumption of 18.09W and 10.56W in standby mode. The device operates reliably within a temperature range of 0°C to 40°C.
