Green Tea Tea Garden - Nepal Guranse Blatt Green
500 g
High mountain green tea from Nepal, from the Guranse tea garden, boasts its medium rolled leaves of high quality. The infusion of sweet aromas will delight you with a balanced, floral, just slightly astringent taste. How long to infuse green tea? You should steep the green tea for 1-3 minutes. If you steep it longer, the tea's stimulating effects become more relaxing.

The history of tea dates back to the 19th century
One might expect that Nepalese teas are not so popular mainly because they do not have such a tradition. But this would be a very wrong opinion, because the history of tea cultivation in Nepal is similarly long as in the Darjeeling region. The first plantation was opened in 1863 when the local minister Jung Bahadur Rana received a tea plantation as a gift from the Chinese emperor. Two years later, another plantation opened, but more were added only very sparsely. It is true that the radical breakthrough came relatively late, namely in 1950, when the tea industry received a substantial financial injection. Since 1959, in addition to the state-owned plantations, there have also been private ones, the foundations of which the government has been trying to promote since the 1980s until now. Today, it can be said that the vast majority of plantations are owned by small private growers. Only about 300 hectares belong to state-owned enterprises and 700 hectares belong to large-scale growers and foreign investors.
Tea cultivation is governed by a strict code of conduct
Nepal today produces about 20,000 tonnes of tea, the vast majority of which is produced at altitudes between 1,200 and 2,200 metres. The main tea regions include Ilam, Dhankuta, Helmets, Terhathum, Sindhulpalchok and Panchthar all of which contain the great ones, as well as small growers. Once the tea plants begin to mature, they can be harvested up to four times a year. Like Darjeeling teas, Nepalese teas have 4 main harvests: First Flush, FF), In-Between, IB), Second Flush, SF), Autumnal Flush, AF). Teas from the first and second harvest are among the most appreciated. While the FF has a certain lightness, is delicate and still relatively immature, the SF offers a more mature taste with a variety of different flavours.
What taste can you look forward to in Nepalese teas?
Regardless of the harvest, Nepalese teas have a relatively light golden colour with a beautifully delicate flavour clearly referring to the fruit. You can also recognize the characteristic muscatel notes for which teas from the Darjeeling region are so sought after. Nepalese teas are great for the afternoon hours, the caffeine content is not too high and can be drunk in the evening. They are great with milk, lemon and on their own.
