Where is Darjeeling grown?
Darjeeling, growing on the plantations of the eponymous region of northeast India, has become a highly sought-after tea worldwide. The climatic conditions of the foothills of the Himalayas really suit the tea plant. The high altitude, cooler temperatures and foggy conditions allow this shrub to grow quickly, so Darjeeling can be harvested four times a year - from April to November.
What taste to expect from Darjeeling?
Darjeeling is harvested four times a year, so it is obvious that the infusion of its tea leaves will taste a little different each time due to the changing weather throughout the year. In general, however, the green Darjeeling has a lheavy herbal refreshing taste with fruity sweet notes, which can be further enhanced by adding honey, your favourite syrup or a slice of lemon. Darjeeling tastes great hot and cold. If you add a few more ice cubes to the chilled infusion, you have a deliciously refreshing iced tea.
