This dark tea belongs to the category of pu-erh shu (mature type), which has undergone controlled fermentation and subsequent maturation. The tea was produced in 2016 and has had five years of aging. During this time, its flavour profile has stabilised and mellowed. For the production, the leaves from Da Ye large-leaf tea trees, which are typical of Yunnan province, were used. The tea trees from which the leaves were harvested are more than 50 years old. Older trees provide leaves with a characteristic texture and a higher content of substances important for the fermentation process of pu-erh teas.

The tea comes from the Xishuangbanna Menghai area in Yunnan Province, which is a traditional centre of pu-erh tea production. This region has specific climatic conditions - high humidity and stable temperatures, which are suitable for growing tea plants and subsequent processing of pu-erh. The tea is pressed into a tuo cha (nest) shape, which is one of the traditional shapes for pu-erh teas. This shape allows even ripening and practical storage. The taste is typical of a mature pu-erh with earthy and woody notes resulting from the fermentation process and subsequent ageing. The texture of the brine is thicker and darker than that of younger pu-erhs.

Preparation
0.6 litres of tea: Pour boiling boiled water over about 10 g of tea for 3 to 5 minutes. Possibility to pour a second time, extending the infusion time to 5-10 minutes. Remark. to prepare: the times are approximate and it is e.g. it is good to pour some tea after a certain time of infusion, taste it and if necessary, strain the whole infusion or let it continue to infuse. You should like the tea, and if, for example. prefer stronger teas, use more leaves, hotter water or extend the steeping time. Don't be afraid to experiment with tea, it's the only way to discover the flavours that suit you best.
Storage
Store in a dry place at a temperature of up to 25 °C away from direct sunlight. Protect from frost.
