WATER I. D. Pooltest PT500 Tablet Tester for measuring pH, chlorine, bromine and alkalinity

WATER I.D. Pooltest PT500 tablet tester lets you measure the pH, chlorine, bromine and alkalinity of your pool water. It is incredibly easy to use – simply add the tablets, shake, and read the values against the light. The chlorine test determines if there is enough chlorine in the pool to destroy bacteria and algae, while the pH test measures the acidity or alkalinity of the water. Ideally, pool water should have values of CI 0.4–0.8, pH 6.9–7.4 and alkalinity 80–120mg/L. If the resulting values are outside the norm, adjust the pool water using pool chemicals. Always adjust the pH level first, followed by the chlorine level. WATER I.D. Pooltest PT500 tablet tester also works with replacement testing tablets.

Directions for use:
Rinse the tester chambers with the water you want to test. Fill them to the fill line with the water sample (from the pool). Chlorine test – add one DPD No 1 tablet. Do not touch the tablet with your fingers. pH test – add one PHENOL RED tablet. Do not touch the tablet with your fingers. Alkalinity test – add one Alkatest tablet. Do not touch the tablet with your fingers. Push the cap onto the testing chambers and shake repeatedly to mix. Once the DPD tablets dissolve completely, compare the colour of the water against the scale. Read the values immediately after shaking – do not wait a few minutes, as the results will not be accurate.
Please note:
Take the water sample 30cm from the edge of the pool and 30cm below the surface. Carry out the tests in the shade, either early in the morning or late in the evening before adding any chemicals. Store the tester in a cool, dark place. Keep the testing chambers clean and dry.
