The GIGABYTE B850I AORUS PRO motherboard is a compact Mini ITX solution that combines an AMD AM5 socket with an AMD B850 chipset. Despite its miniature size, it offers full support for AMD Ryzen™ 9000, 8000, and 7000 series processors and introduces advanced features including X3D Turbo Mode. This optimises gaming performance with a single click – Ryzen™ 9000 non-X3D processors can achieve similar gaming performance to their X3D counterparts, resulting in a higher frame rate and lower latency. The board has two dual-channel DDR5 memory slots with AMD EXPO™ support and D5 Bionic Corsa technology, which uses advanced AI-assisted overclocking for high memory performance up to 8400MT/s.

Power and cooling for stable operation
The foundation is a digital VRM power design in an 8+2+1 phase configuration with Digital Twin technology. Eight VCORE phases with 80A SPS circuits unlock the full potential of multi-core processors, two SOC phases with 80A SPS ensure optimal performance for integrated graphics and memory management, and one MISC phase with 30A MXL delivers reliable power to the PCIe lanes connected to the processor. The board uses a ten-layer PCB with Low-Loss technology and a double copper layer to minimise signal loss.
Expansion slots and storage with PCIe 5.0
For the graphics card, there is a single full-size PCIe 5.0 x16 slot equipped with PCIe UD Slot technology – all-metal stainless steel reinforcement increases shear resistance by 1.7× and retention force by 3.2× compared to standard slots, while SMD technology reduces signal degradation and improves heat dissipation. The storage offers two M.2 slots: one PCIe 5.0 x4 on the front of the board and one PCIe 4.0 x4 on the back, both featuring an EZ-Latch design for screwless installation. There are also two SATA III ports for traditional hard drives or SSDs. The EZ-Latch Plus design applies to both the PCIe slot and the M.2 slots, significantly simplifying system assembly.
Expansion and storage slots
Cooling is handled by massive all-metal VRM heatsinks with a cooling surface area four times larger than standard solutions and thermal pads with a conductivity of 5W/mK, which can reduce temperatures by up to 7°C. The M.2 Thermal Guard Ext. cover protects one M.2 slot, and the Smart Fan 6 system enables detailed fan and AIO pump settings directly in the BIOS. The UD Power connector with Solid Pins ensures excellent conductivity and heat dissipation during repeated connections.
