A scent repellent is a product used to deter wild animals from certain areas by means of a specific odor. It works on the principle of releasing a scent that target animals perceive as unpleasant or dangerous. Substances that mimic the smell of natural predators, such as wolves or bears, or even human sweat, are often used. Animals then instinctively avoid places they consider the territory of their enemy. These products can come in various forms, such as liquid concentrates, sprays, foams, granules, or carriers impregnated with the active substance. They are applied to fences, trees, or directly into the area to be protected, thereby creating a scent barrier. The effectiveness is time-limited and depends on weather conditions, so regular reapplication is necessary.
