MULTIPA Towbar wiring tester 13pin, 12V

MULTIPA Towbar wiring tester 13pin, 12V
The MULTIPA electrical wiring tester checks the correct function of 13-pin sockets and plugs on towing equipment with a 12V supply. Using clear LED indicators, it quickly reveals any faults, such as a broken wire or a blown bulb. The tester verifies all lighting functions on both the vehicle and the trailer, contributing to safer driving. The device requires a 9V battery, which is not included in the package.
Key features of the MULTIPA 13-pin, 12V electrical wiring tester
- Designed for 13-pin sockets and plugs (12V)
- Tests all vehicle and trailer lighting functions
- Status indication via clear LED diodes
- Detects broken wires or blown bulbs
- Can test 7-pin systems with an adapter (not included)
- Not compatible with sockets using a CANBUS control unit
- Powered by a 9V battery (not included)
Diagnosing trailer electrical wiring
Before first use, insert a 9V battery into the tester, ensuring correct polarity. To check the trailer, it is essential that all lights have working bulbs. Plug the trailer's plug into the tester and press the yellow button on the side of the device. If the wiring is correct, all the corresponding LED diodes will light up. Each diode signals one electrical circuit. If any indicator does not light up, the problem could be faulty wiring or a broken wire.
Checking the vehicle's towing equipment
When testing the socket on the vehicle, first turn on the lights and indicators. Then, plug the tester into the vehicle's towing socket and press the yellow button again. The illuminated LED indicators will confirm which circuits are active and correctly transmitting the signal to the socket. If no diodes light up, check the earth connection or ensure the vehicle's lights are actually switched on.
Important usage notes
This tester is not intended for vehicles whose towing sockets have their own control unit (CANBUS). For correct function and to prevent damage, never plug the tester into the towing socket and the trailer plug simultaneously. Always test the vehicle and the trailer separately. During diagnostics, refer to the illuminated LED diodes, which will reliably identify any problematic connections.
