The ROG MAXIMUS Z890 APEX is an ATX motherboard with an Intel Z890 chipset. It supports Intel Core Ultra processors for the Intel 1851 socket and is ready for advanced AI PC builds. The board features two PCIe 5.0 x16 SafeSlots with PCIe Slot Q-Release Slim, which fully support modern graphics cards, and two PCIe 4.0 x4 slots. It supports DDR5 memory with overclocking up to 8800+ MT/s in two DIMM slots in Dual Channel mode, with a maximum capacity of 96GB and DIMM Fit, DIMM Flex, and AEMP III technologies. The motherboard uses a 22+1+2+2 power solution rated at 110A per stage with ProCool II power connectors, MicroFine alloy chokes, and metallic capacitors. ASUS AI Overclocking profiles the processor and cooling to predict the optimal configuration. The NPU Boost feature overclocks the NPU with a single click, increasing performance by up to 24%. AI Cooling II balances the thermal and acoustic performance of your PC build. AI Networking II combines technologies that continuously optimise network performance, provide a reliable connection, and unlock the speed of WiFi 7. DIMM Fit is a BIOS feature that precisely analyses individual memory modules to optimise performance and detect potential issues. DIMM Flex uses specialised circuits that can increase performance or resolve potential stability problems based on the measured temperature.
Advanced cooling and overclocking
The board is equipped with massive heatsinks with an integrated I/O cover, highly conductive thermal pads, and a heatpipe for efficient heat dissipation. Differential sensing and condensation detection provide advanced options for demanding overclocking. WiFi 7 offers a 320MHz wide 6GHz band, 4096 QAM with ASUS WiFi Q-Antenna. The ROG SupremeFX ALC4080 codec with a Savitech SV3H712 amplifier ensures high-quality audio output. The motherboard is built with a two-slot layout for DDR5 memory to enable high-performance processor and memory overclocking.
