Fan Xpert 2+ software provides comprehensive control over system fans. Auto-Tuning mode intelligently configures all parameters with a single click. There is also an Extreme Quiet mode, which reduces chassis fan speeds below the default minimum to keep your system whisper-quiet when performing light tasks. The fans can also be controlled via the UEFI BIOS.

The Digi+ voltage-regulator module (VRM) provides real-time control over voltage drop, automatically switching frequency and power-efficiency settings. It also lets you fine-tune your CPU for ultimate stability and performance.

Comprehensive cooling and protection solution
The PRIME B450M-K II motherboard is engineered with an array of hybrid fan headers and features comprehensive cooling controls that are configurable via Fan Xpert 2+ software or through the UEFI BIOS, ensuring your rig stays cool and stable under intense workloads. A VRM heatsink with thermal pads underneath improves heat transfer from the MOSFETs for better cooling performance. Each onboard CHA FAN header supports PWM and DC mode. Each header can be set to monitor and react to dedicated thermal sensors. A dedicated integrated circuit protects the fan connectors from short-circuits and overheating, among other things.
Achieve higher speeds with the onboard M.2 port
The M.2 slot supports drives up to size 22110 (22×110mm) and its PCI Express 3.0® x4 interface provides a data transfer speed of up to 32Gb/s. It offers fast data access, making it ideal for connecting an operating system or application drive.

Armoury Crate
Armoury Crate is a new software utility that gives you centralised control of supported products. From a single intuitive interface, Armoury Crate lets you easily customise RGB lighting and effects for every compatible device in your arsenal and synchronise them with Aura Sync for unified system lighting effects. The software also provides control of settings for a select and growing number of products, including keyboard and mouse preferences. Armoury Crate even features dedicated product registration and a news area to help you stay in touch with the gaming community.
SafeSlot Core
SafeSlot Core is the ASUS-exclusive PCIe slot, featuring a special hook that anchors it more firmly to the motherboard, which provides 1.6× greater retention and 1.3× greater shear resistance than standard slots, while ASUS Prime motherboards have reinforced solder points around both the PCIe and DIMM pins. A world-class circuit-protecting power design includes built-in voltage regulators to protect your board from overvoltage from lower-quality power supplies, and onboard resettable DRAM fuses provide overcurrent and short-circuit protection, extending the life of your system and connected devices. The corrosion-resistant stainless-steel back I/O panels, bonded with chromium oxide, have a lifespan three times longer than ordinary panels, while ASUS LANGuard technology increases network throughput and provides 2.5× greater surge tolerance thanks to advanced signal-coupling technology and premium anti-EMI surface-mounted capacitors, ensuring a more reliable connection.
BIOS FLASHBACK™
BIOS Flashback™ is the easiest and safest (UEFI) BIOS update method. Simply drag the (UEFI) BIOS file onto a FAT32-formatted USB flash drive, plug it into the USB BIOS Flashback™ port and press the button. Updates can even be performed without having a memory or CPU installed.
