Photo verification of alarms with HDR technology
The Ajax MotionCam HDR Jeweller uses a built-in camera with a CMOS image sensor and High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology to take photos during security events. HDR combines two images with different exposure times, preserving details in both light and dark areas of the image and improving colour reproduction and contrast. Infrared illumination also allows for photography in low-light conditions. When motion is detected, the device triggers an alarm and takes a series of photos, which let you visually verify the situation in the protected area.
Precise motion detection and reduction of false alarms
The motion sensor uses an Excelitas Technologies PIR sensor and a specially designed Fresnel lens, which helps distinguish the thermal characteristics of people, animals, and the surrounding environment. The SmartDetect algorithm continuously analyses the intensity of infrared radiation, the size of the thermal object, its speed of movement, and the time of its appearance in the detection area. Software-based temperature compensation adjusts the evaluation of the PIR sensor data according to the ambient temperature, maintaining detection efficiency across the entire operating temperature range. When installed at a height of 2.4 metres and with the lens correctly aimed, the detector can minimise false alarms caused by animals weighing up to 20kg and up to 50cm tall.
Wireless communication, security, and easy installation
The detector communicates with an Ajax hub or range extender via the Jeweller and Wings wireless protocols, which support encrypted two-way data transmission with a range of up to 1700 metres. The system monitors the communication status and alerts you to signal interference or loss of connection, while automatic diagnostics check the status of the power supply, sensor, and tamper protection. Installation is made easy with the SmartBracket panel, and adding the device to the system is done by scanning a QR code via the Ajax app. Power is provided by pre-installed, replaceable CR123A batteries, enabling operation independent of the mains electricity supply.
