Choose a monitor based on colour depth and native contrast
Colour depth refers to the number of colours a monitor can display. For example, a 6-bit monitor can render almost three hundred thousand colours, while a 10-bit monitor can display over a billion colours. Thanks to a higher colour depth, it's possible to display finer shades and achieve more realistic and vibrant colours. The colour depth of the offered monitor is 10-bit. The GIGABYTE monitor provides a native contrast of 1200:1. The native contrast ratio indicates the difference between the brightest and darkest points that the monitor can display. If a monitor has a contrast ratio of 3000:1, it means that the brightest point (white) is 3000× brighter than the darkest point (black). A higher native contrast supports finer detail resolution in both dark and light areas of the picture, which is important, for example, when playing games with dark scenes.
