Say hello to the new additions to the Epson projector range. The first is the Epson EF12 laser projector with Android TV. It's very compact and has high-quality built-in Yamaha audio - you can have a movie night with it almost anywhere. The EH-TW740 is also made for some fine movie watching. It's not as portable, but it has a top-notch picture quality for its price range. If you're looking for a strictly office projector, you'll want to check out the Epson EB-FH52, a lamp projector with wireless image transfer support and other interesting features.
Moving a high-end movie projector between the living room and the bedroom, grabbing it while visiting your friends, or packing it with you while going for a weekend getaway? Enjoying portable projection has never been so easy. The EF-12 is explicitly designed for portability, so you can hold a movie night anywhere as long as you have a screen or even a plain white wall. The projector's image can be easily adjusted to suit the space available - you can choose any diagonal from 30" (76cm) to 150" (381cm), creating a full range of picture projections from a larger computer monitor to a real home cinema.
For transport, the Epson EF-12 has one major advantage - it's the only device you need to watch movies. The sound is taken care of by Yamaha's powerful built-in system, which promises incomparably better volume and voice clarity than integrated speakers of conventional projectors can offer. The EF-12 is also equipped with the Android TV operating system, so you can watch movies on it directly from streaming services. Or you can also use YouTube and other apps accessible through Google Play.
Laser Projectors: What Makes Them Better Than Lamp and LED Types?
Laser light sources are increasingly being viewed as the future of the projector technology. And indeed, they have several key advantages over other solutions. Here we briefly summarise the characteristics of each technology.
Lamp projectors - A tried and true classic capable of achieving high brightness and therefore image quality in various lighting conditions. The downside is the lamp life, which is quite low - only the better models are able to offer more than 10,000 hours. Another disadvantage is the high heat production and hence the need for powerful cooling, which can be noisy.
LED projectors - Here, both disadvantages of lamp projectors are solved by LED technology. The service life is tens of thousands of hours and noisy cooling is history because LED projectors produce minimal heat. On the other hand, they are notorious for their low brightness - while the output of the newest and more expensive LED models is now comparable to lamp projectors, the budget categories aren't quite there yet.
Laser projectors - Laser projectors take the best of both worlds. They combine the high brightness of lamp projectors with the low maintenance, low heat nature of LED projectors, complete with their long service life. Their disadvantage is that there's only a handful of budget models available, as laser technology is relatively expensive.
The Epson EF-11 is the smaller sibling of the EF-12. It's a good option if you are interested in the same image quality and even more compact size, but at the same time you can get by with ordinary speakers and without Android TV. You'll still have the option of wireless video streaming via Miracast, but otherwise you'll have to rely on cables and playback via a computer or Blu-ray/DVD player. But if you know this limited package will work for you, you can save money.

If you're looking for an office projector, the new EB-FH52 is sure to catch your eye. It uses 3LCD technology with a lamp light source, which means spectacularly high brightness (up to 4,000 lm) and therefore high image quality and clarity even in daylight. The image size can be selected from 30" (76mm) up to 300" (7.6m), which is more than enough for large hall lectures. By lamp projector standards, the EB-FH52 has a truly impressive lamp life, promising up to 12,000 hours in power saving mode.
For professional office use or video conferencing, the Epson EB-FH52 is equipped not only in image but also in function. It supports WiFi connectivity and enables wireless image transmission using Miracast. Once connected to WiFi, you can also take advantage of Epson's iProjection feature, which allows you to display content from multiple devices at once using a single split-screen projection. You don't need to worry about external speakers - the Epson EB-FH52 comes with its own built-in ones, which are both loud and have sufficient audio clarity.
